Mumps is a contagious viral disease. The virus is transmitted from person to person by respiratory secretions. It is a common childhood disease. The child is effected who have not vaccinated properly against the disease. Mumps can occur in any age. The mumps virus incubation period is usually 12-24 days. The main symptoms are face pain, fever, headaches, sore throat and swelling.
